Richard Barton- Owner, Search Engine Specialist, Software Developer

A recent addition to Idaho, Richard grew up in the suburbs of Chicago. As he grew up, he didn't see the point of calling on the phone when efficiency and simplicity was to be found in a computer. This motivated him to go into computer science. From there he moved West to attend Brigham Young University and graduate with a degree in Computer Science. Now, his 12+ years of experience in search engine optimization and software development has transformed his preference for the computer into a thriving business dedicated to helping others use their computers and Internet to better their business. If he is not in the office working toward helping small businesses find the success they deserve on the internet, he'll be out exploring the wild beauty of Idaho. This is not limited to hiking, mountain biking, and fishing. There are so many things to go and do in the great outdoors in Idaho.

Michael Barton- Software Developer 

Michael has spent the last decade working on advanced php-based web applications. Most of his day consists of working on the “tough” stuff that most people shy away from. There are no projects too large or small for him to work on. In addition to paid work, he also enjoys giving back to the community by donating his time and energy to developing open source projects, and organizing local meetups to help promote open source in small businesses with hopes of cutting costs and helping to better the lives of all Americans. In his free time, Michael likes to read, exercise, and relax on the beach (living in Florida has its perks). He is also an advocate for natural & renewable energy.

Derek Watterson- Graphics Designer

Derek is someone who loves to look at something and twist it and move things around until it is at its best. Originally he was going to be an electrical engineer but as he studied he found himself drawn to his art classes and PhotoShop. Through those classes he learned how to make anything look good and graduated as a Graphic Designer from Brigham Young University-Idaho. On top of his degree, photography has been a consistent fascination that has resulted in his being appointed as our photographer on top of his designing websites. He truly enjoys taking a website that is having problem and not looking its best and turning it around making it functional, work well, and look user friendly. One of Derek’s favorite things to do is teach and make life easier, which includes creating easily manageable websites for our clients. His hobbies also include the latest technology and hardware, more specifically RC and Mac products.

Trever Turpin- Sales Representative, Search Engine Specialist

Trever discovered sales through his summer sales job in Texas. It taught him communication and kindled his interest in sales and marketing. With 2 years of sales and marketing study at Eastern Idaho Technical College and 6+ more years of experience, Trever has been Barton Consulting’s sales representative for 2 of those years. Very adept at helping prospective clients, Trever finds that he enjoys helping them learn and understand their websites and our services. Through his sales and marketing skills, he is able to help clients realize the potential of their websites and help the business grow. When Trever is not working he’s at home spending time with his wife and two little boys. They love spending time outdoors, whether it’s camping, hiking, snowmobiling, or skiing.

Katie Harrison- Content Writer

Katie came to be a website content writer after graduating from BYU-Idaho in English-Creative Writing. Anything that involves words and writing falls under Katie's interests and passion. Her position as a content writer is expanding her capacity as a writer and helping her to continue to grow beyond her education. She has been discovering her real-world potential in her area of expertise. She loves the vast variety of skill sets required as a content writer. Instead of narrowing in on one subject and burrowing in, she is broadening her knowledge of a great many things and feels that this not only helps her writing but it also advances her real world knowledge of practical, everyday, useful things. Outside of work Katie loves reading, water-skiing, knee-boarding, hiking, and ballroom dancing with her husband.

Brian Loynd- Software Developer

Brian is currently a student of BYU-Idaho, working and studying to become a Software Developer. He loves to take on the challenge of difficult problems and find or make a solution to them. Through this, he has come to work at Barton Consulting to help clients with their computer software problems. More specifically he enjoys any software development and debugging he can do. While software is a major part of his life, Brian also takes the time to fully enjoy the outdoors with hiking, camping, and four wheeling.
