Software Technology
When building this website there were several different parts that came together including the features: Flash Charts, a Zend Framework, Flash Gauges, and AJAX Search.

With a Zend Framework, MyGauges can easily manage new growth as well as any future changes. Through using the Zend Framework we can separate the backend, behind-the-scenes programming from the "look" that the customers see. Also the Zend Framework alllows more security and role-based permissions. If you aren't logged in and you need to be logged in in order to perform a function (like adding your stats) it will redirect you to the login page.

In regards to permissions, it also extends to what you want people to see. If they user is allowed to see something they will be able to, but if they don't have the permission set they won't be able to see it no matter how they try.
jQuery Experts
JQuery is another feature used to add cool efficient effects to the website including asynchronous data loading so that pages don't have to be refreshed. For a more user friendly site jQuery enables easy interaction with the features the site has to offer: tabs, overlays, forms, and style.

In order to customize the site to fit the customer's mode of thinking Flash was utilized in order to create a gauge that looks like a real dashboard, allowing them to see visually what isn't right. For example, if their MPG is bad it shows in the red, as if they were reving the engine too high. If their CPM is bad, it also shows in the red. This transforms what could be complicated ideas and results into a display that is easy to understand.
