Why do you need a Michigan SEO Expert?

Can’t my designer just build a website for me? In an article on WordTracker, Rachelle Money, discusses whether or not Web Designers are clueless when it comes to SEO.

From the article,

Most people are only enlightened about SEO once their expensive website has failed to get them traffic and/or business. (Chris TT)

Which is a very true statement. Many people pay thousands of dollars for a very beautiful website, then feel burned when nobody comes to visit there website.

You can’t just build a website, and expect traffic to come. You need to optimize your website so that it can be found, and you need to market it. That’s where Search Engine Optimization, and Search Engine Marketing come into play.

So, when looking for SEO Consultants, what do you look for? You need a Search Engine Consultant that knows what there doing.

Pay a company monthly and expect to see the results improve, if they don’t, you’ve got the wrong company. (Chris TT)

Before going with an SEO Consultant, take a look at their previous work. What are they ranking for, what are there clients search engine rankings. Pretend to be a customer to one of their clients. Can you find their clients in the search engines? That says a lot about the company.

When you’ve finally decided on an SEO Consultant. Pay per performance is really the best way to go. Nobody needs to be stuck with an under performing SEO consultant.

Now web designers themselves, can truly be clueless when it comes to design. Especially if there only skills are Adobe Photoshop or Adobe Flash.  Look for the whole package; A team of designers, programmers, and SEO consultants.

I think firstly a website has to be designed for the visitor, even if you do get visitors you must give them something easy to look at so they read and stay. Then make the site work well for SEO purposes.

SEO if done properly doesn’t detract from the end user experience. It enhances it. Relevant titles, detailed descriptions, alt and title tags, only help the end user. Too often designers make websites, that “look cool” but provide a very poor end user experience.

I could not agree more! A web designer typically does not even know how to put a title on a page!!

  5. Rika says:

It is very important to hire designers who are well aware of SEO techniques as well. So the SEO will not need to correct and redesign. Hire a firm that provides both the services.

Pay Per Click can yield good results, however once the campaign is done you will lose the added value you have paid for. Organic link building will pay offer better in the long run in my opinion.

  7. Stewart says:

Yes, the first thing which hits an average user’s mind is that to make a web-site is to call a web-designer, and that will do. But still he or she doesn’t even realize what a complicated process site-building is, apart from design.

  8. Samira says:

I think, that design and SEO are both very important, so I agree, that it is better to hire a designers who are good in SEO.
